Berglandschaft im Winter bei Sonnenuntergang. Die Berggipfel sind teilweise schneebedeckt, wobei die Gipfel von der untergehenden Sonne golden beleuchtet werden. Im Vordergrund erstreckt sich ein verschneiter Wald.

Starting at the Dachstein Cable Car’s mountain station at 2,700 meters, the ski tour leads across the vast Dachstein Plateau to Obertraun. The 25-kilometer route, consisting mostly of downhill runs, winds through unspoiled nature.

The Dachstein crossing takes between 4 and 5 hours, including a stop for refreshments.

Ski Touring Tip: Edelgrieß Descent

The iconic “Edelgrieß” run is considered one of the most beautiful freeride runs in the Alps. A breathtaking 18 km of freeriding through the Dachstein Massif all the way to Ramsau am Dachstein.
Like all other Dachstein tours, the Edelgrieß tour requires thorough planning (weather, map, route description, etc.).
That’s why it’s recommended to be accompanied by a mountain or ski guide who knows the area well!
